Emergency Preparedness Planning and the Macy Catheter

Hospi Corporation would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued work in the face of the escalating coronavirus threat.  This is a challenging time and adds additional strain to your team, patients, and families.

Many agencies are currently updating their Emergency Preparedness Plans. We understand that patient intake and triage, as well as staffing challenges, may be at the forefront of your tabletop discussions. Hospi is here to support you in these efforts. While reviewing your plans, keep in mind that the Macy Catheter can empower clinicians and caregivers to treat patients in place during emergencies. The catheter provides medication and fluids to patients in any setting such as home, SNF, ALF and inpatient units without the need for transfers.

Please feel free to reach out with questions regarding medication or fluid delivery via the Macy Catheter. Our team is also available for refresher training via webinar and you can find free training videos at https://www.macycatheter.com/training-videos/. We want to assure agencies that during this time our supply chain is unaffected, and we anticipate business as usual with ordering through distributors or direct from Hospi. Please call Hospi Clinical Support at 888-509-3732 (ext. 2) for any questions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also email us at clinical@hospicorp.com.

Sincerely,

The Hospi Team
